Pepperland boasts wonderful amenities, including nature trails, a creek, a fire pit with bench seating and a one-acre lake suitable for swimming. We have a deluxe outdoor kitchen, covered picnic tables, outdoor showers and restroom facilities. We also enjoy a large outdoor stage with lighting and sound.
Campers will be housed in rustic-style cabins with bunk beds.
Each cabin has an assigned counselor who is responsible for the well-being of the group.
Meals and snacks are be provided each day, prepared with love in our outdoor kitchen facility. Safety is of the utmost importance at Pepperland. Our staff includes individuals who are certified in CPR and first aid. Although we welcome all children to Pepperland, if a prospective camper requires medication, or has a medical condition which requires special consideration, our capacities may prevent us from accepting their application.
A typical day at camp begins with the campers gathering for morning movement, stretching, and gratitude circle. A unique aspect of Pepperland is our use of and focus on music through the camp day. All kids are drawn to music; there is something about music that resonates deep within each of us. Through Earth skills, hikes and wilderness instruction, campers explore the forests, streams, and hidden valleys of Pepperland. Campers learn to use all of their senses to experience the outdoors as they play in the creeks, crawl into their hand made debris shelters, explore the forest, track wildlife and taste edible plants. The afternoons are filled with water activities including swimming, canoeing, and water play. Campouts and Group Learning Projects will highlight their experience.
